At Prosperity Health in Bloomfield Hills, we offer advanced microneedling treatments that harness the body’s own natural healing processes to resurface skin. Microneedling can reduce fine lines & wrinkles, minimize acne scars, improve the appearance of stretch marks, and treat other skin imperfections and signs of aging including sun damage and dark spots.
The “building blocks” of smooth, tight, healthy, youthful skin are the proteins called collagen and elastin. As we age, the skin’s production of collagen and elastin slows considerably. So the skin gradually loses it’s ability to repair damage from UV rays, stress, diet, smoking, tanning, aging, scarring and more. However, microneedling treatments activate renewed production of collagen and elastin – which naturally repairs skin and rebuilds firmer, smoother, tighter and younger-looking skin cells.
Besides being used to resurface the facial skin, microneedling can effectively treat wrinkles, sagging skin, scars and stretchmarks almost anywhere on the body including: the neck; chest or cleavage; stomach; hands; upper arms; thighs; and, anywhere you desire smoother, tighter, more youthful skin.
Because microneedling is a 100% natural skin rejuvenation treatment, it is safe for all skin types and tones – including darker skin. And, there are virtually no side-effects or risks of complications. Additionally, unlike laser skin resurfacing, it is very affordable and there is no downtime.
If you are troubled by lines and wrinkles, scarring, skin discolorations, lax skin, or stretch marks, schedule an appointment at Prosperity Health in Bloomfield Hills, MI. You will love what microneedling can do for your skin!
Microneedling works on the same general principle as skin resurfacing fractional lasers. But instead of damaging the skin with harsh, painful laser heat energy, microneedling uses ultra-fine needles to stimulate skin rejuvenation. Microneedling offers a number of advantages over traditional laser resurfacing, including: virtually eliminating post treatment sensitivity; safety for all skin tones; and, no downtime.
While lasers literally burn off the top layer of skin (“epidermis”) microneedling creates miniscule wounds or “microchannels” by piercing the skin with tiny needles. The body perceives these tiny needle pricks as “injuries” – and so it goes to work producing the natural proteins (collagen and elastin) that repair skin.
The new collagen that is produced resurfaces the skin by “filling in” lines, wrinkles and scars, as well as improving tone and elasticity, and reducing pigmentation such as age spots.
While at-home microneedles are very short, only medical-grade microneedling penetrates deep into the dermis to repair skin, to a depth of up to 3mm. In additon to activating the body’s healing mechanisms, these microchannels also allow for the deep penetration of restorative nutrients that are applied during the treatment.
And, for the ultimate in skin resurfacing, microneedling can also be combined with state-o-the-art PRP treatments, for a procedure equivalent to the famous “Vampire Facial”.
